CLP Nature Action

About Us

CLP (Charlestown, Limekilns, Pattiesmuir) Nature Action was founded in 2018 after a group of passionate nature lovers in the villages and biologists, chemists, environmental consultants, local businesses met in a village pub in West Fife to discuss how they could do more for nature collectively both for wildlife and for our local community.

We believe collaboration achieves more than individual efforts

Across our villages, through positive effective collaboration, we seek and deliver nature conservation and restoration projects, offer inclusive volunteer, training and educational opportunities for our community to learn and take action for nature and work to make our villages more sustainable for the long term including creating rural jobs that work for those living rurally.

We believe collaboration achieves more than individual efforts, and our conservation, restoration, and sustainability projects demonstrate this. Our voice is louder and our progress is faster, benefiting biodiversity faster because of collaborations with Buglife, Marine Conservation Society (MCS), Earthwatch, Surfers Against Sewage (SAS), Fife Climate Hub, Fife Community Garden Network, Scotland the Bread, Royal Horticultural Society, Coastal Communities Network (CCN), Ecology Centre, Restoration Forth, SEPA, Scottish Water, DM Crombie, Education Scotland, Plastic Free Fife, Plastic Free Scotland, local Councillors and MSPs, Fife Council, Learning for Sustainability (LFS) Fife, Limekilns Church, Limekilns Primary School, Scouts, Guides, and village businesses and groups.

Projects for all ages and demographics in our community

Our projects aim to engage all ages and demographics in our community, each led by a fully trained volunteer or part time flexible roles that suit our rural villagers’ lives and also ensures a legacy to our projects. Every project is constantly developing in providing opportunities to develop volunteer skills and experiences for those involved in them, including for young people starting out on the career ladder and helping them develop their work experiences.

We provide opportunities that help our community understand the link between people, nature, and climate, empowering them to address the biodiversity and climate emergency they hear about and not feel helpless anymore.
